ILOILO BUSINESS RESOURCE CENTER
IBRC started its operation last August 2001 as a project of the Canadian International Development Agency-Private Enterprises Assistance Linkages Project 1 (CIDA-PEARL 1).
The Center was created to offer business consultancy services specifically in the aspect of capacity building, investment promotion and marketing to SMEs in Iloilo City and Region 6. The Center was aimed to conduct economic briefings; offer training courses; spearhead study missions and tours; technical skills demonstration; compile research information and general services required of SMEs in Iloilo and the region.
  IBRC PROJECTS
Federalism Roadshow
- held last October 2005 at the John Paul II Hall of the Archbishop's Residence
- organized by the Bishop's Businessmen Conference with the assistance of the Iloilo Business Resource Center
- a forum on a national roadshow to discuss inputs of the public on the proposed change of government
Caltex Mentor Program
- held last August 13-September 3, 2005 at the Jalandoni Memorial Elementary School, Lapuz, Lapaz, Iloilo City
- organized by Caltex Philippines and the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo with the assistance of the IBRC of IBC
- for 4 Saturdays, 30 elementary students, appraised with deficient reading skills, were subjected to mentoring by members of the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo, Roteract and employees of Caltex Philippines.
Feria Española in Iloilo
- held last June 29-30, 2005 at the Sunset Ballroom or Hotel Del Rio, MH Del Pilar Street, Iloilo City
- organized by the Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the assistance of the Iloilo Business Resource Center of the Iloilo Business Club.
- A two day trade fair of genuine Spanish products where wine tasting, wine appreciation seminar, Spanish cooking demonstration, flamenco performances and lessons were introduced for free.
Entrepreneurs Development Project
The Entrepreneurs Development (E.D.) Project is a school based program of the Iloilo Business Club, handled by the Iloilo Business Resource Center in collaboration with the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, Central Philippine University, University of San Agustin and University of Iloilo which seeks to support development of entrepreneurial mentality, attitude and skills among college students in all year levels.
