Corporate Social Responsibility

In response to calamities in the country, Iloilo Business Club (IBC) launched its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project in the aftermath of Typhoon Ondoy in 2009. Inspired by the generosity of Emmanuel and Marilisa Vespignani , an Italian couple who raised funds for a rehabilitation effort and entrusted Iloilo Business Club to implement the project in Tampok Elementary School in Cainta, Rizal, IBC institutionalized a CSR Policy.

Since then, Iloilo Business Club has undertaken several CSR Projects to include the repair, repainting and refurbishment of public elementary classrooms in a school in the Province of Bulacan and two (2) in the Province of Iloilo; supported school activities of student beneficiaries during the turn-over; and donated books, toys and learning materials, depending on the need.

In lieu of the Club’s Christmas Party, donations from trustees and members funded worthwhile projects for the community. A child’s corner was sponsored by the Club in the halfway house of women and children who are victims of abuse in the Province of Iloilo. In 2016 until 2020, the Club organized gift-giving Christmas outreach to 300 City street sweepers and special packs for COVID 19 frontliners in the City of Iloilo.
